Miscarriage of Justice Compensation – Lawless and Fulton

In the case of Ian Lawless the Judicial Review of the Secretary of States refusal to award Ian Lawless compensation has now been stayed by agreement . This is on the basis that there is now to be a series of conjoined cases reviewed by the Admin Court and it is envisaged that Ian Lawless will be one of them .

In the meantime the case of KF v United Kingdom in the European Court of Justice continues and we have heard that on 11th April this case has been adjourned pending the hearing of Allen v United Kingdom .

What is clear is that there is now considerable activity to see how those who have been wrongfully convicted can achieve  compensation .
